It’s National Plan a Cruise Month, celebrating cruise ships big and small. But mostly big and getting bigger! And to mark it we have picked out a variety of useful blog posts from those who have cruised with kids, teens, partners and parents, as well as going solo and going to work. Curious? Read on…

One of the most beguiling blog posts we have read about cruises in a long time comes from Abi who blogs at Inside The Travel Lab. She travelled to the Galapagos Islands where her search for the blue footed booby got her researching Darwin and exploring islands with an overwhelming preponderance of birds.

Sanna at VeganCruiser looks at cruise ships from a foodie angle. And more specifically from a vegan foodie angle. Sanna’s aim through her blog is to try dispel the myths about cruise holidays – one of those being that you can’t cruise as a vegan. But not just the onboard buffet. Sanna also has a good look around for vegan delights in towns and villages. Here’s an interesting post on her visit to Kefalonia.

The food was one of the highlights for Johanna who took a Cruise from Marseilles around the Med for Feet on the Ground. The trip was achieved with a little help from train and ship. But no flying!

Meanwhile Claire from Tin Box Traveller was also in the Mediterranean, feeling tearful at the end of her eight day cruise on Carnival Vista. But before you pass her a tissue it wasn’t because she was unhappy. In fact she’d very much enjoyed a raft of iconic European destinations and had a lot of family fun on the 133,500-ton ship. Check out her post.

Pheobe from Lou Messugo chats with her parents to get their take on an older person’s experience of a river cruise on the Danube. They travelled at Christmas and took in a host of traditional European experiences. Her mother even became a cruise convert.

Meanwhile Jane at English Mum took the kids on a Disney Cruise and has these ten tips for cruising with teens.

Packing the right stuff can be an issue, even for the staff as Lisa from Travel Loving Family found out on her first cruise. She’s since been on quite a few cruises over her career in the industry. Here’s her insider’s guide on what to wear.

If you are a first time cruiser and don’t know where to start, Sophie who blogs at Sophie’s Suitcase has some advice for you in her fun post giving insider tips from a regular cruiser.

And finally for Plan a Cruise Month, Gretta Schifano from Mums Do Travel would like to know what you want from your cruise and why you go cruising. Fill in her poll and then start dreaming up your next on-board adventure.
