Trips 100 – Around the world in 100 blogs

Hello and welcome to our new site

Welcome to Trips 100. We’re glad you have found your way to our site. Whether you blog, work in the travel industry or have stumbled across this site in a quest for information or inspiration on somewhere to go, we hope you will find features that are useful, entertaining and engaging.

Who we are

I am Kirstie Pelling, and I will be commissioning the content for Trips 100, working on a daily basis with Editor Victoria Welton. Our aim is to offer a guiding hand through the ever growing labyrinth of travel blogs and to help you view the world (or have a view on the world) from the comfort of your office, train seat or armchair.

What we do

Through our own regularly updated blog, we’ll help you get to know some of the best writers and photographers in the field and hear what they have to say about the myriad places they visit. We’ll introduce you to fresh faces and their take on attractions and destinations in our ‘Six of the Best’ slot about great blog posts, blogs, or bloggers. We will share where the people on our list think you should be right now and where you should go next, depending on culture, events, anniversaries, seasons, or just something in the air or the zeitgeist.

We aim to bring you our thoughts, and the thoughts of others, on industry trends, news and developments. We will ask the experts in the industry to pitch in, and we hope you will want to join in the debate over a coffee or two.

What’s in it for you?

If you are a new blogger, you can find tips and tutorials on getting better. If you are more experienced then we hope you will consider providing some of these tips and establishing yourself as an expert voice. Unlike some other sites, or courses with huge fees, we offer our tutorials for free. Our blog camps are free as well, and not just London-centric. We’ll also be running competitions for travel related prizes, to help you fund your adventures.

We have a comprehensive list of some of the best bloggers in the UK. They cover the whole gamut of travel from budget to luxury. If you are a brand we can offer you a way of keeping in touch them and help you run campaigns.

And if you are working in the travel industry, we can spread your word to bloggers about what you are up to and where in the world you are going next.

Global debate

Speaking of the travel industry, we aim to widen the debate with a monthly travel dispatch direct from your side of the fence – perhaps on the growth of adventure holidays, the latest developments in cruising, dog hotels or robot guides. Who knows where the experts will take us?

Bite size debate

One of our regular features will be the Twitterview; – a live, digestible Twitter interview with an industry specialist that lasts the length of a coffee break. In case you miss it, we’ll pull the chat together as a blog post for you to catch up with later, perhaps over a glass of wine. With a limit of 140 character answers, it won’t take up much of your time – or theirs.

Join the debate

We’re looking for contributors in just about all these slots so please get in touch. And feel free to suggest topics you’d be interested in us pursuing on your behalf.

We do hope you will join us on our journey through the blogging world and the travel industry. It’s always more fun to travel with a friend!
