A New and Improved Trips100

0

This month, we’re introducing some changes here at Trips100, which will help you create a more compelling profile on our site, and to promote your favourite travel posts with our readers.

You’ll notice the changes next time you log into your account on Trips100. Here’s an overview of what to expect:

Profile Photos

You can now upload a photo with your profile. This really helps you stand out when a PR or brand searches through the listings on our site – try and use a bright headshot or travel snap that helps to show your personality. Photos should be square, and no bigger than 300kb (this should allow you to upload an image that’s 750px square)

Postcodes

Add your postcode to your Trips100 profile, and we’ll be able to easily let you know about events that are happening near you. Previously, we’ve only been able to identify bloggers by region, but now if an event’s happening, we know how far away you are from the action. This information isn’t visible to anyone but you – and will only be used to offer you better local invitations and opportunities.

Your Age

You can also update your profile with your year of birth. Often brands we work with are looking for bloggers within a particular age group – and this will help us target such opportunities more accurately. Your age won’t appear on your profile, and you’ll simply be matched to an age range – providing us with a year of birth allows this age range to be automatically updated as needed.

Community Round-Ups

Here at Trips100, we’ll be regularly sharing round-ups of member blogs’ posts on specific themes – for example, we might do a round-up of the best posts about Paris, or tips for travelling by train. Sometimes we’ll get in touch to ask if you’d like to be included in a round-up, and if you’re happy for us to use an image from your post – but if you’re happy for us to do this, with a full credit and link back to your blog, then you can let us know via your profile – just tick the “community round-up” option on your profile.

Update your Profile

The more up-to-date your profile, the better brand opportunities you’ll receive – recently refreshed profiles are highlighted to brands when they search our community. If you haven’t updated your profile in a few months, you’ll now see a reminder each time you log in.

Tips on Making the Most of Your Profile

When brands are selecting bloggers to work with on campaigns, your profile is your shop window – so put it to work for you! Here are some ideas on a great blogger profile:
  • Include a short description of what you’re blog is all about – is it the story of a solo female traveller, a photo blog about Europe, travel with kids?
  • Don’t forget some basic facts – you might want to mention where you are based, and any theme your blog has.
  • Do you cover any side-topics alongside travel – food? luxury travel products? Budgeting tips?
  • Have you won any awards or accolades? Here is a great opportunity to mention them!
  • Social links. Add all your social links and then click on them to make sure they work!
