The season of mist and mellow fruitfulness is upon us and the #Trips100 Instagram hashtag has also been stuffed full of goodness this month. Trips100 Editor Kirstie Pelling introduces some of her favourite posts…

Let’s start by taking you to a quiet contemplative place, by candlelight. We loved this atmospheric post by Lucy Dodsworth capturing a Petra tour by night with 1800 candles.

And staying in the relaxed zone, check out this awesome post of the Bristol Balloon Festival by local Heather @heathercowper. Bridges and balloons are two huge icons of Bristol. All we need now is Banksy. And Heather’s been on the case there too – check out her Instagram account for Bristol street art.

Gretta who instagrams @MumsDoTravel took us on an intimate tour of Portugal through the doorways and windows of villages. Here’s a lovely shot of some of the colourful architecture in Nazaré. We were also treated to an array of gateways in Obidos.

Talking of colourful architecture, Carly, who posts as @girl_outofbounds has been showing us around Lyon in glorious technicolour.

#throwbackthursday to one of my favourite parts of France – Lyon! What's your favourite part of the country?

Meanwhile in Prague Abbi @abbitravels discovered this imaginative building. If you think it’s looking wobbly it’s not because you need glasses. This is the #dancinghouse or the Tančící dům which sits along the embankment in #Prague and offers great views from the 7th floor restaurant.

Remember playing spot the dog? Here’s a game of spot the fish. @Ethannevelyn played it with their kids at a Tetra Aquarium pop up on Old Street. Can you see the finned fella?

Now it’s time to play spot the baby in this delightful portrait of Elizabeth @Wandermum trying out the latest baby travel gadget.

Powderham Castle was all about pirate action for kids as Claire @tinboxtraveller found out. There was even a guest appearance from Jack Sparrow.

You can’t have a trips 100 Instagram round up without food. And here’s a great autumnal food post, from Alta Allella vineyard where Maria from @OneTinyLeap captures those berries flying. Do have a fruitful month and keep tagging #trips100 and we’ll see you mid October for another round up.

Early this morning I flew to Barcelona to discover what the Costa Barcelona has to offer families. First stop? A vineyard 👍 🍷 @altaalella is the closest vineyard to Barcelona, fully organic variety of wines and renowned cava. What does this have to do with kids? Well, not only are they based in a stunning location overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Alta Allela also have a variety of programmes to get kids to have fun at the vineyard, and develop their understanding of the 🍇➡️🍷 process. We also took part in a fantastic workshop where we made delicious chocolate truffles! Seriously good. In this video you can see the grape-choosing process, during which dry ice is used to keep the selected grapes from starting the fermentation process. Plus, it's pretty gorgeous heh? #BMLcostabcn #bcnmoltemes #espana #spain #wine #cava #lovespain @bcnmoltemes @spain
