How to Afford 2017’s Travel Trends

0

If you love to travel, funding your adventures is likely a priority for you, especially in January, when it’s dark and cold in the UK, and most of us are broke after Christmas.

This month, Trips100 has teamed up with the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) and travel journalist Helen Ochrya to showcase the top travel trends of the coming year.

FSCS are the people who keep the money in your current and savings accounts safe. Check your account is protected here.

They also have some amazing tips on making the most of your money over on their website, meaning you can afford even more adventures in 2017.

We’ve also been working with some of our blogging community to pull together tips for travel bloggers on making the most of your money.

  • Tuesday, six weeks before you travel is when your ticket will be cheapest, says Laura from Elle Blonde. She also advises using price comparison sites to check deals and scour the internet for coupons to make even more savings. Follow airlines and train companies on social media and sign up to newsletters to find out about special offers and last-minute discounts.
  • The secret to funding travel is having a strict budget, says Nichola from Global Mouse Travels. Make it a part of your monthly routine to set aside money specifically for trips, and cut the amount you spend on new clothes and gadgets – tempting as they may be!
  • Cathy from Mummy Travels advises wannabe travellers this year to tidy up more! Cathy regularly clears the house and sells items on eBay and Facebook to top up her travel funds, as well as using cashback sites and credit cards to get money back or air miles on new purchases.
  • Vikkie from Tastefully Vikkie swears by charity shops for holiday clothes shopping. Vikkie says she’s regularly able to pick up bargains for under £1, especially when buying holiday clothes out of season.
  • Finally, Fiona from Time2Gossip suggests making the most of your skills – if you’re artsy then why not try making sock bunnies on Etsy? It doesn’t have to be a craft inspired by a Friends episode, obviously – but lots of us have skills that could be used to make extra money!

Check out the bloggers’ sites for more budgeting tips and don’t forget to check out the FSCS website for some great inspiration for your 2017 travels.

So You Know...

As you've likely heard and seen, there's an increasing focus on the authenticity of follower growth and engagement on social platforms across the Influencer Marketing community. The platforms themselves have taken measures to deter inauthentic activity and brands now more closely scrutinise the audiences of the influencers with whom they are partnering.

The Flea Network has implemented a system that will detect abnormal spikes in following and engagement, and flag these properties. Of course, such spikes can often be attributed to viral posts or high-profile brands that bring greater exposure to some content.

If one of your social accounts is flagged by our system without an obvious reason, we may reach out to you for assistance in understanding it. If we find any influencer has artificially inflated their audience size or engagement using paid acquisition or automated, third-party tools, we will remove them permanently from our influencer community.

Feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] with any questions or comments.

Thank you!
