Six inspirational solo female travel bloggers

First up we have Emily Luxton.  Emily is a passionate solo traveller.  “I love to travel and explore, to get lost and discover hidden gems, to chat to locals about their culture, and – most of all – to discover a place through it’s food”.  To find out more about Emily and her travels to all ‘corners’ of the earth check out our interview when she was crowned our Blogger of the Month – April 2016.  You can read about her recent trip to India in this useful post – 24+ India Travel Tips for Solo Female Travellers.

Vicky from Flip Flop Travels  is a travel blog for “people who want to make the most of their annual leave, weekends, money and friends, by exploring the world, and a festival or two”. Vicky quite openly states that she prefers to travel with friends, but she certainly doesn’t let “being a female be an obstacle or issue if I have to go it alone.”

We love Vicky’s honest account of travelling solo –“Solo travel can be hard, it can be lonely, people can be douche bags, places can be a underwhelming, and trust me, there’ll be times you’ll wish you were back at home in bed watching a bitta telly, rather than trekking through a jungle to see some blummin monkeys.  After travelling solo for three years, and loving most of it but definitely not all of it, I want to give you a more realistic guide to solo travel. And it’s not all sunning your bronzed body on a tropical beach with your flock of new best friends”.  Read the rest of this article here – The Realistic Guide to Solo Travel.

Wanderlust Chloe was set up by Chloe after she quit her job as a radio producer and embarked on an epic solo adventure through Mexico, Central America and Cuba. Her blog shares her passion for fun, food, style, adventure and memorable moments.  Chloe is also no stranger here on Trips100.  Check out our interview with Chloe when she was our Blogger of the Month – July 2017.
Helen from Helen in Wonderlust quit her job in 2009 and headed to Africa for a trip that was to change her life forever.  “I climbed Africa’s highest mountain, challenged Maasai men to jumping contests, travelled like a local, went on safari (actually many safaris), volunteered in local communities, saw wonders of the world, rafted the River Nile, tracked mountain gorillas and met some of the most wonderfully inspiring people I could hope to meet”.  In 2016 Helen set up an overland Africa tour company, Rock My Adventure, which offers “small group tours for awesome people”.
Jayne from Girl Tweets World is a British travel blogger and freelance writer based in Melbourne, Australia. Check out Jayne’s Highs and Lows of a Holiday for One for an honest account of solo travel and Why Solo Travel Can be Good for a Relationship which explains why Jayne continues to occasionally travel solo even though she is in a long term relationship and about to get married.
Monica and her team at The Travel Hack share ideas and reviews of stylish adventure and affordable luxury holidays.  Monica is now often accompanied by her young children and husband whenever she travels however she will still travel solo when the opportunity arises – “When I have the choice between travelling alone or sitting at home, I’m going to choose travelling alone every time. If I always waited for someone to be available to come with me then I’d never go anywhere. My friends and family all have busy lives, lots of commitments and other priorities – it’s hard enough to pin them down for a drink in the pub, never mind a weekend away!”  Check out Monica’s – 8 of the Hardest Things about Solo Travel and How to Overcome Them.    Read more about Monica and her team of travel writers here – Blogger of the Month June 2016.

So You Know...

As you've likely heard and seen, there's an increasing focus on the authenticity of follower growth and engagement on social platforms across the Influencer Marketing community. The platforms themselves have taken measures to deter inauthentic activity and brands now more closely scrutinise the audiences of the influencers with whom they are partnering.

The Flea Network has implemented a system that will detect abnormal spikes in following and engagement, and flag these properties. Of course, such spikes can often be attributed to viral posts or high-profile brands that bring greater exposure to some content.

If one of your social accounts is flagged by our system without an obvious reason, we may reach out to you for assistance in understanding it. If we find any influencer has artificially inflated their audience size or engagement using paid acquisition or automated, third-party tools, we will remove them permanently from our influencer community.

Feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] with any questions or comments.

Thank you!

The Flea Network Team
